Changing the Mirage

Chapter 15

*One year later*

"Did you two kiss and make up?" Shane questioned as Taylor and Mykhail came back into the kitchen. They both looked at each other and smiled causing him to roll his eyes, a smile on his face as well. They had been in a heated debate about who had been voted People’s Sexist Man Alive in 2002. After their bickering had died down considerably, Shane and Zac assumed they were both wrong.

"What have you two been up too?"

"We were making out just before you came in," Zac replied nonchalantly.

"He a good kisser?" Mykhail questioned.

"He uses too much tongue for my tastes to be perfectly honest," he made a face.

"Um…that’ll be enough of that you two," Taylor interrupted.

"No worries. I still like kissing you better," Zac threw his arm around her neck, pulling her to him before kissing her sweetly on the lips.

"That’ll be enough of that too!" Taylor scolded.

"Jealous?" Shane smiled, taking a step toward him.

"Well, you know they say that a gay couple’s passion for each other lasts longer than a straight couple’s and they appear to be beating us," he pouted.

"We’ll just have to try a little harder to outdo them."

"Yes we will," he smiled leaning in.

"I think it’s getting time for me to leave the room."

"Hold on. This could be hot?"

"And that’s definitely my cue to leave," Zac grumbled, pulling Mykhail behind him.

"You said it was your cue to leave. Why do I have to too?" she spoke as he pulled her out. Neither Taylor nor Shane could help but laugh.

"Ready to join everyone else?"

"Yea," he nodded taking his hand and letting him lead him back into the living room. Taylor released his hand as he went to take a seat on the couch. He thought back to the conversation he’d had with his father and the words that he spoke. His life was a silhouette waiting to be filled with whatever and whomever he wanted. As he looked around, taking in his life he couldn’t help but realize how happy he was with the things and people who he’d chosen to fill it with; a great boyfriend, his best friend, his supportive family. It took him a while to realize just how lucky he was to have those things especially the support of his family. A lot of men in his position didn’t know what it looked or felt like, but he did. And because of this support, he eventually found what he was looking for; himself. He found himself.
