10. Together AgainNikki and Zac slipped into the next room quietly. Zac walked over and checked on Jacob who was sleeping with his back to the motel door. Early the next morning Zac awoke. He looked down to see Nikki still fast asleep in his arms. He turned slightly to see what time it was, the bright red numbers of the clock read 4:45 am. Zac leaned down close to Nikki’s ear.
“Wake up Doll, you have to get going now.”

“Morning, it’s almost five. You have to get going before Jacob wakes up.”

Nikki stopped and turned to the little boy, letting go of his hand. “Now Tommy I want you to stay in here until the principal comes to get you, Jenifer and I are going to wait outside the school ok?”

“Jenny, you and I are on a special mission for the Principal, we are secret agents so we have to sneak out the window quietly and go to a secret location, ok?”
When Jenifer smiled it was a wide toothy smile just like her Father. Once outside Nikki took a quick scan of her surroundings before ushering Jenifer to her car that happened to be purposely parked right outside that window of the old bathroom.

“I just have to check your car.” the agent instructed as he reached for the door handle. Just then his police radio went off.
“We need you inside now, we have a situation.” a voice crackled over the speaker in urgency.
In hearing that the agent stood up immediately. “I have to go. Have a good day.”
“Thank you, I will be back shortly.” Nikki called out as she slowly drove off the lot and out into the street.
A few minutes later, Nikki called out to Jenifer.
“You can move up to the front seat now.”
Jenifer popped her head up, then slowly climbed over the seat into the passenger side.
