Kindred Seven: The Sergeant is the seventh installment in the Kindred series and one I looked forward to but actually read slower thanks to Aimster posting it all in one go.
It was nicer to read this one a bit slower as I got to take it in and really ask questions over time to myself. As well as deliberately torturing myself in finding out what the fuck is going on which was something I kept asking myself from the start since K7 picks right up or almost right up to where K6 started.
The mystery of what is slowly going on gets unraveled bit by bit through the chapters though and I think I was maybe on the right wavelength with my assumptions though it’s never outright stated only hinted at even when the story ends and the clones seemingly get saved.
So I can’t help but wonder if Aimster doesn’t have plans to revisit the group of Russians who kidnapped the clones in a latter installment. Especially since they more than likely failed in whatever they were trying to do.
This installment also made me feel a bit sympathetic to a few of the villains from earlier stories so I’m really interested to see how long that lasts in the next story. I’m also interested if Aimster will go deeper with the revelation that there are probably way more clones out there than the one’s we already know though another part of me is wary because how many clones are too many before the story gets bogged down with clones?
I think the only cons I really had with this story was the Russian (I only know English and it was a bit of a task to translate) and I also really missed Zac and Isaac and I really hope they show up again in the next story in the series.
