I’m positive that I read this story back in the day, because I was arguably one of Candystix’ biggest fans, but the details of it have been lost to my memory. Back in that era, there were so few lengthy Zaylor stories, and although all of Candystix’ stories don’t hold up perfectly well today, I’m hopeful that this series, beginning with Parts of a Picture will.
The story begins with Candystix’ trademark smut. Most of her Zaylor stories aren’t all that explicit, but this one is, painting a beautiful picture of the two brothers in their teenage years. There isn’t a great deal of plot in the first chapter, but the second one fast forwards several years and jumpstarts the plot with the addition of a fiance–and then wife–for Taylor. How can the two brothers keep up their relationship now that Taylor is married?
It’s Taylor’s wife who comes up with a plan for them. Zac can be with Taylor, but only if she’s there, too. For a while it works, until the truth comes out–the truth that Zac doesn’t want to share, and the truth that the brothers are doing things no brothers should ever do. From there, the drama piles higher and higher, though it’s always tempered with plenty of hotness. By the end, the story has come full circle, but Candystix has left herself plenty of room for a sequel that will reveal even more parts of this particular picture.
