After being less than happy with the conclusion of the second story in this series, I can only wonder what Wedding Portrait will reveal. The title gives me a few ideas, but Candystix has managed to surprise me more than once during this reread of a series I’m sure I must have read as it was being written.
Although the second story focuses primarily on the drama, Wedding Portrait manages to bring back the hot smut that I associate so strongly with Candystix’ writing. There’s still plenty of angst, though, all of it centered around who will give away Dylan at her wedding–Isaac or Zac.
More than any of the other short parts of this series, Wedding Portrait feels a little abrupt and like it skips over some things that may need a little more attention. It exists, I’m sure, just to wrap up the loose ends created in the other stories and finally give it all the happy ending that the whole family deserves. It serves that purpose well enough, with just enough of the smut to keep it from getting too emotional.
