There were a few rather notorious early erotica authors, and amongst them was Albertane Child. In the introduction to this story, she states that she prefers to write about Isaac, but wrote about Taylor at the urging of a friend. What resulted was One Night, a rare love triangle featuring a girl, Isaac and Taylor.
From the very beginning, the story is sexual and in a way that’s very familiar. Aside from the cast change, it really isn’t so different from most early erotic hanfics. Sexually frustrated, Isaac’s girlfriend (who remains unnamed through the entire story) walks in on Taylor and a sexual relationship quickly forms between the two. Naturally, Taylor wants more and this is what eventually leads to him telling Isaac the truth.
Because of the story’s brief length, it’s hard to relate to any of the characters, but I do appreciate the bittersweet ending. Albertane Child’s writing is a bit stilted, although she does stumble onto some nice turns of phrase, and switches tenses often. Still, the smut is very good and I can see why she earned her reputation in that area. With a little editing and perhaps a bit of lengthening this not-quite-Taylor story might be something really good.
