It’s hard to take a story seriously when it begins with a completely ridiculous and implausible premise. Driving Him Crazy is set in 2003, but you wouldn’t know it based on how young the Hansons act and how much control their parents still assert over there. The whole premise, in fact, is based upon the idea that they keep driving away bus drivers with their insane, childish antics.
Once you reconcile the idea of the boys acting like that when two of them are actually adults, you’ll have to come to terms with the fact that one of their two new, female bus drivers is only sixteen years old. Even if you consider that the story’s author was likely quite young, it’s still so implausible that you’d think Tasha might have realized it at some point during the writing process.
All those implausibilities aside, it’s a pretty simple love story centered around the idea of Isaac and Zac winning over two girls who initially want nothing to do with them. It takes very, very little to win the girls over, even if Tasha manages to stretch things out so that they don’t unite until very near the end. In fact, little of consequence at all happens through the middle of the story and its short, sloppy chapters. The references to Taylor’s hanfic writing girlfriend are somewhat interesting, even though that side plot ends up going nowhere. In fact, in spite of its title, this fic really doesn’t go anywhere at all, and that’s a shame.
