What can I say about Bled Dry? It was my first time reading a full length story with BDSM qualities and it’s also written by two authors whose collabs I really like so of course I couldn’t not read it and it didn’t disappoint on being a good story.
Bled Dry is an interesting premise with the BDSM qualities because I feel it’s not normally done in Hanfic often or if it is, it’s not researched well and I do think Bethany and Amber did their research with this. But even with their research I still think I had some issues with it like the fact that Scott while being the Dom in his relationship with Taylor, he just came across as really controlling and sometimes it felt like he bordered an abuser in an abusive relationship with how much he needed and wanted to know about Taylor’s life when apart.
Scott also came across really cocky too which probably also left a bad taste in my mouth along with his controlling aspects but sometimes the cockiness was kind of hot, especially when used in smut scenes which this story didn’t lack.
I think my favorite character in this whole fic was Zac though and it was nice seeing him grow into this really perverted yet broken man, even if I didn’t ship him with Taylor who really doesn’t deserve him, especially given the ending. An ending which leaves many things unresolved which is probably good since there is a sequel planned.
I’d probably recommend this fic to people who like darker stuff and who don’t mind a lot of smut, but if you’re not into darker things or you expect a certain ship to be endgame you should probably skip this one.
