Kiss and Tell is a story I was looking forward too the moment Bethany told me about the idea for it. I love college fics and I wish more existed in Hanfic and I also really really love, love triangle fics and this fic had both. So of course I read it the moment she started posting it.
I was hooked from the very beginning, loving how Bethany wrote Georgie and her friend group as total nerds who don’t really fit in. Probably because I kind of feel that way too at times and so I could relate. I also found that during reading it, I took a particular liking to this version of Taylor which was a first since I usually always go for Zac especially in love triangle fics where Zac is the other part of the equation.
But with Kiss and Tell I found myself rooting for Taylor because despite some of his douche bag tendencies I did and still do think he had a bit of a heart of gold. Not a full one because well it’s Taylor but just a bit. So I really wanted Georgie to end up with him. She also had better chemistry with him and still did at the end, even though spoiler warning she chose Zac.
Taylor was the better choice and a part of me still feels that Bethany may just have a Zac bias and that’s why she went with Zac/Georgie end game instead of putting Georgie with who she had the better chemistry with.
But that aside the story was still good and while Zac/Georgie may not have had much chemistry the only time I really saw it was probably during one of the best smut scenes in the story and this story had a lot. Probably because Bethany at the moment is one of the queens of Hanfic smut.
I think that one smut scene may stick with me for a bit even now after the story is done and I almost wish Zac had shown that side of himself the whole time throughout the story. Maybe I would have rooted for him….or maybe I wouldn’t have. I don’t know.
I did like the ending though and I love how everyone but the main antagonist got a happy ending and I also loved how things just sort of came full circle to how the story started. It was a good read and I’d recommend it to anyone..or even people who stopped reading because their ship wasn’t end game, I’d say finish it, you won’t be too terribly disappointed.
Also just a little P.S. I guess, the chapter titles for this story were genius.
