I started reading Untold only knowing on big plot element. That one of the characters died. I’m apparently a glutton for punishment as I read it anyway.
While I normally love Bethany’s stories this one was probably on my least favorite list mainly because I found that I wasn’t a huge fan of the main ship. Taylor and Shiloh just scream rebounds as both are suffering from recent losses. Taylor in Charlotte and Shiloh in Zac and I just don’t believe that ship was ever meant to work in the long run. In fact I have a headcanon that they probably broke up after the epilogue because they realized what they had wasn’t genuine love and only just what they thought love could be.
But besides that I think Bethany did well showing Taylor coping with Charlotte’s loss and the Zac. There were times it felt so raw and real and I had tears in my eyes when I read those parts. Which says something as I usually try not to cry when reading fics.
Yet this story did make me cry so I have to say that probably outweighs how much I loathed Taylor/Shiloh and the fact that they were rebounds.
