As one might expect from the sixth fic in the series, The Street Rat is when I feel that this fic series really starts to come into its own. What I mean is, this is where all the various plot threads start to both converge and diverge in really, really interesting ways.

As Mark continues to find himself in over his head with the mob, Taylor meets the last clone, who Isaac has already begun to develop an interesting rapport with. It isn’t exactly what I had in mind for Isaac’s role in this series, but I do find it interesting and strangely endearing. Given what a character Keandre turns out to be, these early interactions with Isaac are even more fun.

And then there’s Jesse. Now that some of the truth has been revealed about his history, he’s become an even more interesting and fun character to watch, in spite of his obvious issues. Alex finally begins to come into his own, as well, although the ending of the fic makes it seem like perhaps too little too late. And, of course, it reveals yet another plot twist, of which Aimster seemingly has an unlimited supply.
