Remember Me is a fic I chose to read based solely on summary alone, which can of course sometimes be a bad idea because the fic can be horrible.
Luckily for me this was not the case at all. Remember Me was an amazing fic ride from start to finish and it was a fic that had a lot of my favorite things. Amnesia(I blame soap operas for that). A Zaylor story from Zac’s pov(I am a Zac girl). And flashbacks(give me all of them)
Zac as a narrator is really likeable even if at times he had moments where I didn’t fully agree with everything he said or did. But then again I think that’s what makes a fic good when characters fuck up or make mistakes because sometimes fics have to have a bit of realism to it.
I think the only two qualms I really had with Zac over all was how he expected his mom to just be fully okay with the idea of him and Taylor, when incest in and of itself is a hard pill to swallow and is also against the law. This isn’t me giving Diana a free pass though because she is actually a villian in this fic and I think she reminds me of one of my own Diana’s but that’s a story for another day.
My other qualm was there was times he refused to see just how toxic Taylor was for him. Though Taylor himself seemed to see that so at least that wasn’t just something that was swept under the rug. The Zac/Taylor in this fic while I loved them were truly toxic for each other in so man ways and I think I would have been okay if this story hadn’t had a happy ending.
But it did. Which I’m also okay with because despite the toxic nature of Zac/Taylor at times they kind of deserved it.
I also have to give kudos to TragicLove for writing such a good Natalie and Kate in this story. I felt for both of them and while I loved Natalie more I still hope Kate somewhere in the present timeline of this story gets her own happy ending. She too deserves that.
Just like this story deserves everyone who loves Zaylor to read it. I promise you won’t regret it at all.
