Kindred 13: The Past is the next installment in the Kindred series and unlike a few of the more recent additions this one isn’t a prequel to events that happened before the story started in Kindred 1. It takes up a few months after Kindred 12 has ended.
Just like past installments the action happens sometimes almost at once and I wasn’t really disappointed in it at all. Especially since it brought back a big foe from the earlier stories. The Russians.
They were a foe that I felt like would always come back I just almost didn’t see it happening now and I almost wish they’d go away but at the same time Aimster has done a good job with them and making me hate them so maybe I like the emotional pain they bring with them.
I loved the addition of the parents now being at the labs too only because this fic brought me a Carey/Diana scene and I’d love to see more Carey interacting with the Hanson’s since it’s been revealed that he is Taylor’s twin brother.
Just like I kind of like the fact that this part of the series has also put Walker/Mark into scenes together given the reveal of the twin thing too and how that does affect Mark as well.
There’s just so much about this series I like and so much I keep wanting to see happen, even if half the time my feelings get compromised. I’m a true glutton for punishment though and keep coming back to this series each time there is a new story.
I think that should say just how good it is.
