All The Answers

by Cyndi and Kate (link)

Genre het, romance, drama
Pairings Zac/OFC
Length 30 chapters
Status Completed

From the beginning, All The Answers seems similar to its predecessor. The chapters are all named after appropriate songs, are fairly short and switch point of view between Akira and Zac. However, I found that I actually enjoyed the sequel a bit more.

The writing seems a bit more polished; the shorter, choppy paragraphs that bothered me in Soundtrack For A Cynical Mind are almost completely absent in the follow-up. On top of that, it’s hot. Even without much detail, the sexual chemistry between Zac and Akira is off the charts. I didn’t feel much of their chemistry at all the first time, but from their very first encounter in All The Answers, it’s there.

For several chapters, the plot progresses happily, but of course, it can’t stay drama-free forever. That would be boring. Once again, the drama comes mainly in the form of Taylor, but also Akira’s family. Then things get even worse; Zac has an accident. There’s nothing especially new about the twists and turns Cyndi and Kate have chosen for their plot, but they weave them together well enough.

There still seem to be a few holes in the plot, but I’m not quite sure. It all works out happily enough, though. I’m never a fan of cheesy endings, but after everything these two have been through, they deserve it.
