Status Completed (third story in the Lucy & Taylor Trilogy)
Collide leaves this series off at a very low spot. I’m not sure how Heather can pull out a happy ending for Taylor and Lucy; I’m not even sure she’s going to by the end of The Last Perfect Thing. I have mixed feelings about how that story left off, but I’m curious to see what this one holds.
This story sees Lucy engaged to another man. Zac is, surprisingly, engaged to her sister. Both Lucy and Taylor’s stubbornness is more evident in this story than ever before in the trilogy, but I don’t mind. Again, characters don’t have to be perfect for me to enjoy reading abut them.
Speaking of imperfect characters… in one very short (too short, in my opinion) chapter, Natalie reveals yet another big secret. I won’t spoil it for anyone, but suffice it to say, while I didn’t quite see this coming, I had hoped there had been some sort of mistake in Collide. As it turns out, it was more than a mistake that pushed Taylor and Lucy apart.
Despite being a trilogy, these are not overly long stories. Each one accomplishes exactly what it is supposed to accomplish. Although Natalie’s secret is never revealed, Lucy and Taylor do finally get their happy ending, and that’s almost enough for me.
