February 2014 Author: Sarah

I’ve said it before I’m sure — I love the community aspect of hanfic so much! Sarah is part of a lovely group of girls I’ve recently gotten to know who are mostly new to hanfic, but who share my enthusiasm for the genre.

Sarah has written a few stories over the past few months, and you can find them on her Wattpad account. I’ve reviewed her first story, Lost Without You, and I’m looking forward to reading her newest one, Life After Love.

Why did you start writing hanfic? How long have you been writing?

I started writing for a couple of reasons. One I am a stay at home mom with 4 kids so I don’t have a lot of friends. Writing has become a way of meeting new people and becoming friends. The second reason I write is to have some sort of a creative outlet for myself.

I actually have not been writing hanfic very long. Maybe 6 months or so.

You post your fic on Wattpad. How do you like the site and do you think more hanfic authors should use it?

I like Wattpad because it allows for easy posting and access with the app. Plus it notifies of updates of stories you have in your library. Every person is different and likes different things. Using Wattpad may be for some and not for others. It really just depends on who the person is and what their likes are.

What are your favorite hanfic stories and authors?

My favorite stories by far are Ten Years and Muses and TYAM- The Wedding written by Abby who is one of my favorite writers!

What is your writing process like?

My writing process really is just having an idea and running with it to see where it takes me. I may have a whole concept or just a few high points and connect the dots between. Every story is different.

Where do your ideas and inspiration come from?

Ideas and inspiration can come from anywhere. I may hear a song that sparks an idea or just a random thought that leads to something bigger.

Which stories are you most proud of having written?

I have only written two stories so far and by far I am most proud of Life After Love.

Favorite songs to listen to while you write or which inspire your writing?

I don’t have a favorite song to listen to but the main artist I listen to is Birdy while writing. Her songs are so deep and meaningful its easy to get creative listening to her.

Thank you, Sarah, for being the March spotlight! I’m really looking forward to reading your newest story.
