Why did you start writing hanfic? How long have you been writing?
I started writing hanfic specifically about a year ago, but never published it anywhere. I just kept it in a notebook. I’ve been writing for years, since I was about 12, but just poems and little made up stories. I started writing fanfics at 14.
Do you write other fiction and/or fanfic as well? If so, what genres/fandoms/etc?
I used to write a lot more fanfics for different fandoms. I still sometimes do, but I mostly concentrate on my Hanfics. I used to write Jonas Brothers, Ryan Sheckler, One Direction, and Degrassi. They’re all usually a romcom, or drama.
What are your favorite hanfic stories and authors?
Right now I’m loving a Taylor fic called Broken, and its sequel called Shattered, both by itzdbmoney on Wattpad. I’m also reading some One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer fics, and I’m really enjoying Girls by britishbums (5SOS).
What is your writing process like?
My writing process isn’t anything too special, I usually just lay in bed or something and type ideas out on the notepad on my phone, and put the chapter together. There’s other times where I have no specific idea, I just open the writing section on Wattpad and start off the top of my head.
Where do your ideas and inspiration come from?
I get most of my ideas and inspirations from my own life experiences. I remember what being 16 was like and the things that happened to me, so I go on that most times. A lot of the situations in Georgia Peach are things I’ve done or said in real life, back when I was Georgia’s age. Although, I haven’t met and fallen in love with a famous boyband member, not yet anyway. 😉
Which stories are you most proud of having written?
Since my only story published right now is GP, I’m very proud of it. It’s the first hanfic I’ve published and I think I’m doing a pretty okay job with it so far. I’m already working on the sequel and a new Zac fic, so I’m hoping I get the same response to those that I did for GP!
Favorite songs to listen to while you write or which inspire your writing?
I’m permanently stuck in the 90s. I do love the top 40 and lots of new music, but I truly believe the 90s was the greatest decade for music. Any songs that are in my chapters, I’m usually listening to at the time. I also really love listening to country music while I write, because I find it calms me down and puts me in the right mindset. And of course, I always play some MON and TTA era Hanson! I find a lot of country love songs, Aerosmith and (kinda funny) Taylor Swift songs inspire me to write as well!
