Review time!

Review time!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it through these reviews, but I did! The plan changed a little bit from what I posted last month, thanks in part to my good friend Elizabeth finishing one of her stories so that I did have an Anthem era story to review. So the updated list of reviews is as follows:

Liz also provided me with a bonus review of one of my own stories, Darling, I Want To Destroy You. You can find that review listed under the Shout It Out era.

And now I’m back to the same problem I faced last month — there’s no Anthem era story for my next set of reviews. I am still a month ahead, so if none of the stories I’m tracking are finished between now and then, that’s okay. For now, the list of reviews for next month is:

That’s a fairly light load, since I’m also going to be participating in Camp NaNoWriMo and attempting to compile another of my recs lists for you guys, in addition to all the usual monthly stuff I do around here. Speaking of which, I’ve made a few little updates to the directory to add new sites and fix some links that Freewebs and the Wayback Machine have dumped.

…and I think that’s all the news for today. See you guys in a few weeks!

February reviews!

February reviews!

Yes, the February reviews are finally here! A few slight changes of plan, thanks to sequels that weren’t available and prequels I didn’t know existed.

There were some good ones this month, that’s for sure. Hopefully next month won’t take so long, though! The stories for next month are:

You’ll notice that there isn’t an Anthem era story listed there, and that’s because none of the other ones I’m currently reading have been finished! I’m keeping an eye out for one, but luckily I reviewed two in September, so I am a month ahead. Either way, check back in a few weeks for the spotlights and in a month for the next reviews.

Finally!

Finally!

My January reviews are finally here, but first I have some huge news for you guys.

Yesterday, I received an email from a fellow named Stephen. Who is that, you ask? Oh, just the guy who hosted Yellow Walkie Talkie. Yes, that is a link. Yes, it is right here on PTH. He asked me to host the site’s archives, which haven’t been actively updated or online at all since 2006, and of course I said yes. How could I not?! If you enjoyed the old site, stay tuned, because he’s still moving in.

Now, it’s review time! This month, I reviewed…

In addition to those reviews, I’ve posted another review from Elizabeth. This time, she’s reviewed my story Love and Other Socially Acceptable Emotions, and you can find her review on the Shout It Out era page.

Check back next month for some hopefully more timely reviews of the following stories:

And don’t forget to come back in less than two weeks for the spotlights… if I get them ready on time :/

December reviews!

December reviews!

It’s that time of the month, folks! Review time. The reviews this time around were:

It feels good to cross a few more classics off my list! You guys may notice that I’ve added a little “Submit a Review” tab to the reviews section. It’s there at the bottom of every page and if you click on it, it brings up a little box to type in your review and submit it to me that way rather than going through the extra step of emailing it in. So what are you waiting for? Send me your reviews!

Anyway, next month I’ll be reviewing these stories:

So check back in a few weeks for that. And before that, check back for some Christmas themed story recs!

Some updates and changes.

Some updates and changes.

If you guys have been paying attention, you’ll notice things have been in flux on PTH for the past few weeks. I don’t want to say too much about it, but suffice it to say, I’ve taken steps to make the site MUCH more secure.

All of that pushed me to finally do some fiddling with the site’s sections as well, so you may notice that the layouts look a little bit (or in two cases a lot) different. I’ve also done some big updates to the directory today, bringing it up to a whopping 3783 links. Wow!

Stay tuned in a few days for the December spotlights and, following that, the December reviews. I may also have a few little Christmas surprises planned…
