Before I get to the spotlights, how about some other news?

First, I have finally finished my directory fixes. Somehow, I had over 200 broken/incorrect/duplicate links! They’re all gone now and every link that remains is as accurate and useful as possible. I’m disappointed to be so far away from 4,000, but I’m glad that things are cleaned up and just generally better now.

Second, as I announced on twitter a few days ago, my Brazilian affiliates over at Hanson Fan Fics will soon be translating my Sweetest Downfall series to Portuguese. I know I have a few Brazilian readers, but now even more South American fans will be able to read my fic. That’s pretty exciting!

Now that all of this stuff is done, it’s time for me to dig into my monthly spotlights. Expect to see those in a few weeks! And, near the end of the month, I plan to post a recs list of what I consider to be the “essential” hanics. So stay tuned for both of those things! See you back here soon 🙂

New layout!

I’ve teased you guys with it enough, I decided it was finally time to put the new layout up! It still has a few kinks and I need to change some things on the various social media to match, but it’s here. It’s nice and clean and I think I like it.

Also, you may have noticed that the directory does not have 4000 links, like I said it did. That’s because, while I was adding the sites that pushed it over 4000, I noticed several duplicate and otherwise superfluous links. Whenever possible, I like to link to only full sites, not individual stories, and so I’ve begun the process of checking every link to get rid of things that don’t need to be there. It’s frustrating to see my total go down, but I hope this makes the directory more useful. If you guys ever spot a duplicate or broken link, let me know 🙂

If you girls and guys can tear yourselves away from the Hanson news long enough to browse PTH for a bit, I have some news for you!

Like the title says, I’ve got some new and old stuff. The directory has been updated with some new and new-to-me links, bringing the total closer and closer to 4000. Feel free to browse around there, but before you do, check out the story archives (link over there on the left). I’ve added three old favorites, one of which I’m very excited to have found. Check the page out, but I’ll tell you right now what the stories are:

  • Dark Clouds by Bree
  • Hush by Shelly
  • Journey Back To Normal by Kim

Pretty exciting, huh? Okay, it isn’t Cancun or a MOE, but I’m still pretty happy 😉

Happy new year!

As you all know, I always post new spotlights on the first of every month. This month is no different, and the spotlights for January 2014 are:

But that’s not all! Since this is a new year, I decided to add a bunch more new stuff. Here’s a quick rundown of what I’ve done over the last day or so:

  • Updates and edits to several pages, including crossovers, glossary, hall of fame, reading list and tropes
  • The full year of 2013 has been added to the timeline page
  • Hostees and affiliates are updated
  • New buttons and screenshots of old layouts were added to the site page
  • Medium sized directory update with several brand new links

Seems like there was something else… hmm… oh yeah! The new layout! It’s pretty similar to all the old ones, but the navigation is on the left this time, because why not? There are still a few things I want to tweak about it, so don’t be surprised if you come back in a day or two and things look a tiny bit different.

I think that’s it for this time, but I’ll be back in about two weeks with the January reviews, so come back then 🙂

I didn’t get a chance to add these earlier in the week when I added the new reviews, but I’ve been working on some pretty exciting new updates for the site.

First of all, I’ve updated the directory. I took out several duplicate links, but I’ve added some new ones as well — and I do mean new! There are some great new stories linked there, and the total links are now over 3800.

But before you all run off to check that out…

A few days ago, Abby sent me a PDF of her story Guilt. You might recognize it as one of the ones she’s been working on republishing. However, she decided to leave it as is and sent me the PDF with the note that I could do whatever I wanted with it. After printing it out and rolling around in it*, I decided to upload it here for you guys! I’ve also added three of Dusty’s stories — Pretty Piece Of Flesh, Retrospective Itch, and Slick Haze Mirror — which she has decided to make available again. So if you’ve missed being able to re-read those four great Zaylor stories, or if you missed them entirely the first time around, go check them out in the Story Archives.

And come back in a few days for some holiday spirit in the form of hanfic!
