October reviews!

October reviews!

Just in time for my trip to Atlanta for the RnR tour, I’ve finished up this month’s reviews! No surprises or changes from the schedule for once, either.

The reviews were:

And next month:

So, keep your eyes out for those! They may be a bit late again, given that I have yet another trip planned and NaNoWriMo, but they’ll be here eventually.

It begins!

It begins!

What begins? The new year of reviews, of course! It took a little longer than expected, and I’m still awaiting word from the author of one of my planned fics, since the final chapter of said fic was missing. For the time being, I’ve had to alter my plans to replace that story, and so the final list for September is as follows:

And the plan for October, which we all know could change between now and then:

Check back in a month for those! But don’t hold your breath for any updates between now and then; it’s looking like October will be a hiatus month for the spotlights. However, I do have a few things to planned to start getting ready for the new album we all hope is coming next spring or summer… So stay tuned for that starting next month, too.

What’s next?

What’s next?

That last post got kind of long, so I figured it would be best to put my future plans in a new post.

So, the fics I’ll be reviewing in September are:

The rest of this last year of reviews’ fics can be found, in alphabetical order, on my “To Read” list, here.

So, what’s next? I think I’ve said a few times that this will be my last year of reviews. There are still twelve months before it all ends, and I’ve got them planned out pretty well.

Why am I stopping? Well, for a few reasons. First of all, it’s getting harder to find fics that meet my requirements. So many of them have either vanished entirely, vanished in part or languish behind friends lock in a journal that was abandoned years ago. Second of all, it’s been a lot harder to get the reviews done since I started working full time last year. I’ve had to avoid adding new stories and authors to my repertoire, and I don’t like that. I don’t feel like I’m being the good advocate for hanfic that I want to be if I’m putting arbitrary limits on what I’m reading. I do, however, feel like I’m pretty well read by this point, so I don’t feel bad about ending the reviews… eventually.

So what happens after the reviews end next August? It doesn’t mean the reviews section is going away and it doesn’t mean I’m going to completely stop doing reviews. I’ll still post at least one a month, sometimes of new fics and sometimes of old. And I’ll still post guest reviews whenever I get them. So, as always, please email me your reviews or fill out this form if you have a review you’d like for me to post.

Until next time, happy reading and I hope you enjoy the site 🙂

DONE!

DONE!

I’m going to split this post into two, with this one focused on the reviews I’ve just finished, and the next one focused on what’s to come.

So, the reviews for this last month of my third “year of reviews,” were as follows:

Additional reviews of sequels to stories I’ve already reviewed can be found in the Anthem era. These stories were Alcatraz 2: Redemption by Aimster, Desire by Tigress, Switching Sides by Galadriel and Ten Years And Muses — The Wedding by Madden.

Below the little “read more” thingy, you’ll see a little wrap-up of this year along with lists ranking them by era and overall.

July reviews!

July reviews!

NaNoWriMo hasn’t delayed these reviews… much.

The stories were as follows:

Next month, the last month of this year of reviews, I’ll be reading:

I’m not sure right now if there will be spotlights for August, so if not, I’ll see you again in about a month for the wrap-up of my third year of reviews!
