Every year, I attempt to write out a list of New Years resolutions for myself, hanfic-wise. They never quite seem to pan out as planned, and at the end of the year, I’m left going “…I wanted to do what?”

Here’s my list from last year, which I think I posted on Extemporaneous rather than here. Let’s see how I did (below the jump)…

• finish writing and posting Audience of One, Interwoven, Songs Left Unsung, Truth is a Whisper, Untold and Worlds Collide — finished four of six, along with sequels for two of those and one I hadn’t planned on!
• begin writing/posting A Fool’s Hope, Bled Dry, and Latitudes and Satellites — sadly no, although Amber and I did get a little more planned on Bled Dry
• complete every challenge I enter — didn’t enter any :/
• read and review my stories for every month — done, and I even began a second year of reviews!

Well, that could have gone better. I ended up working on things I didn’t plan on, so I still feel accomplished. You never know how a new year is going to go. Case in point: I also made a little comment about how I didn’t expect the new album (untitled at the time, but which we now know and love as Anthem) to cause a big surge in hanfic.

I. Was. Wrong.

Hard as that often is to admit, I’m very glad about it this time. I doubt it had anything to do with all the work I put into the site last year, but nevertheless, I have even more big plans for the site this year, and here they are:

• add a Trivia page to the site
• post at least one new article of my own
• finish my second year of reviews and plan a third to begin in September
• send a few more of my reviews in to Random Fandom
• post a recs list at least every other month
• finish writing In the Dark and Songs Left Unsung (and post their soundtracks)
• work on, if not finish, the six stories I’ve been outlining
• write at least one more ‘lost chapter’ for Sweetest Downfall

A pretty long list, with a wide variety of tasks on it. I did just get a brand new, full time job that is going to seriously cut into my hanfic time, but I’m staying optimistic. I think I can accomplish quite a few things on this list! Come back this time next year to see how I’ve done.
