New year, new stuff!

New year, new stuff!

Happy new year!

As you all know, I always post new spotlights on the first of every month. This month is no different, and the spotlights for January 2014 are:

But that’s not all! Since this is a new year, I decided to add a bunch more new stuff. Here’s a quick rundown of what I’ve done over the last day or so:

  • Updates and edits to several pages, including crossovers, glossary, hall of fame, reading list and tropes
  • The full year of 2013 has been added to the timeline page
  • Hostees and affiliates are updated
  • New buttons and screenshots of old layouts were added to the site page
  • Medium sized directory update with several brand new links

Seems like there was something else… hmm… oh yeah! The new layout! It’s pretty similar to all the old ones, but the navigation is on the left this time, because why not? There are still a few things I want to tweak about it, so don’t be surprised if you come back in a day or two and things look a tiny bit different.

I think that’s it for this time, but I’ll be back in about two weeks with the January reviews, so come back then 🙂

New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions

Every year, I attempt to write out a list of New Years resolutions for myself, hanfic-wise. They never quite seem to pan out as planned, and at the end of the year, I’m left going “…I wanted to do what?”

Here’s my list from last year, which I think I posted on Extemporaneous rather than here. Let’s see how I did (below the jump)…

Tis the season to read hanfic…

Tis the season to read hanfic…

Everybody needs a little loving around Christmas time, right? With that thought in mind, I wanted to share a few fun little seasonal hanfics with you guys. There are all sorts of treats here, both naughty and nice.

*Snow Job by Nanaja. I think you can guess just from the title what sort of treat this one is. It’ll cool you off and warm you up at the same time.

*Mistletoe by Candystix. Anyone familiar with that author’s name can guess what sort of story this one is. This is one of her “Exotic Delights,” so tread lightly if cest isn’t your thing.

*Emotion Sickness by Rachael. Not strictly a Christmas story, but it does take place at Christmas and it’ll have your belly shaking like a bowl full of jelly while you laugh at the characters’ hilarious antics.

*The Gifts by Flash. If you’re craving something a little more bittersweet this Christmas, Flash’s Hansonized version of The Gift of the Magi might hit the spot.

*Twas The Night Before Christmas Hanson Style by Jay Windley. Lastly, how about an old school parody from the very first Christmas we all spent with the boys?

I think that’s a little something for everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful (and Hansony) whatever you celebrate this winter 🙂

More updates!

More updates!

I didn’t get a chance to add these earlier in the week when I added the new reviews, but I’ve been working on some pretty exciting new updates for the site.

First of all, I’ve updated the directory. I took out several duplicate links, but I’ve added some new ones as well — and I do mean new! There are some great new stories linked there, and the total links are now over 3800.

But before you all run off to check that out…

A few days ago, Abby sent me a PDF of her story Guilt. You might recognize it as one of the ones she’s been working on republishing. However, she decided to leave it as is and sent me the PDF with the note that I could do whatever I wanted with it. After printing it out and rolling around in it*, I decided to upload it here for you guys! I’ve also added three of Dusty’s stories — Pretty Piece Of Flesh, Retrospective Itch, and Slick Haze Mirror — which she has decided to make available again. So if you’ve missed being able to re-read those four great Zaylor stories, or if you missed them entirely the first time around, go check them out in the Story Archives.

And come back in a few days for some holiday spirit in the form of hanfic!

*I didn’t actually do this. Or did I?

December reviews!

December reviews!

It’s that time of the month, folks! Review time. The reviews this time around were:

It feels good to cross a few more classics off my list! You guys may notice that I’ve added a little “Submit a Review” tab to the reviews section. It’s there at the bottom of every page and if you click on it, it brings up a little box to type in your review and submit it to me that way rather than going through the extra step of emailing it in. So what are you waiting for? Send me your reviews!

Anyway, next month I’ll be reviewing these stories:

So check back in a few weeks for that. And before that, check back for some Christmas themed story recs!
