Some small-ish updates. Medium sized, really.

Some small-ish updates. Medium sized, really.

Bit of an update to the directory today. I added a new layout, which I think looks nicer. Hopefully you all agree. I also added quite a few new links, although quite a few are still broken for complicated Wayback Machine reasons that I hope will be resolved soon. So I do apologize if you click on any of those. Still, we’re up to 4283 links, if you count the ones that don’t quite work at the moment. Not too shabby.

Also, I wanted to remind everyone that it’s almost exactly four days until Wintry Remix sign ups start. NaNoWriMo starts just a bit over eight days after that, so it’s shaping up to be a pretty busy rest of the year. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Old news and new news

Old news and new news

I don’t know how it’s taken me two weeks to notice, but somehow, I forgot to announce here that I have overhauled the spotlights section. It has bigger preview images and space to say a lot more about each of the spotlights. While I haven’t posted any new spotlights for April, you can look forward to more regular spotlights (though perhaps not always three per month) in the future.

This month, I’ve also updated the directory, bringing it up to over 4,200 links total, and added a few missing terms to the glossary.

And, of course, I’ve posted the new reviews. For April, the reviews are:

I also have one guest review this month! The wonderful Rhoda has reviewed The Innocents by Paola. You can find that review in the Shout It Out section.

And of course, come back next month for the following reviews:

A thank you to all the hanfic fans out there!

A thank you to all the hanfic fans out there!

Is Thanksgiving Eve a thing? I’m making it a thing. And on this Thanksgiving Eve, I’m giving thanks to all the wonderful, inspirational Hanson fans I’ve met through this website. Some of you I’ve gone on to meet in person (even a few of you from other hemispheres!), and some of you still remain online friends only, but the friendships all mean so, so much to me.

So, to say thank you, I’ve started some much needed updates to the site! I know the boys have been coy, even downright dismissive, about the idea of a new album next year, but I’m not giving up hope yet. If there is a new album, that means new and returning fans discovering this site. And that means I need to get PTH in its best possible shape, starting now.

First up is the guestbook, which I had lost the password to. I’ve recovered that, made the layout match the rest of the site and deleted all the spam. It’s looking pretty lonely now, so be a dear and sign it? 😉

Secondly, I’ve added nearly a hundred new and old links to the directory. You may spot a few mirrors of sites already present, but if there’s anything working on this directory has taught me, it’s that the web is really, really ephemeral. Sites are vanishing everyday despite my best efforts to save them. There are still a few broken and/or malfunctioning links that I hope will be sorted out soon, so please overlook those and enjoy the new, old and downright odd links I’ve added.

And of course, happy Thanksgiving to all!

Oops!

Oops!

Somehow, I forgot to post about the spotlights yesterday, although they are up. And they are as follows:

Three other notes before I end this:

One, you may have noticed that all links to sites previously located at HansonFiction.com do not work. A spam site has taken over that domain name and prevented it from being archived by the Wayback Machine. For now, I’m leaving these links up all over the site, out of sheer stubbornness and the hope that the spam site will go away and these old sites can be archived once again. Along those lines, I’ve added a few more old links to the directory–and a couple new ones!

Two, I’ve got some new content in progress for the site that I think might interest some of the nerds (like me). More on that soon!

And lastly, the Blank Page Awards are starting up again in just four days. Get your nominations ready, because I want to make this round even better than the last!

A new year of reviews begins…

A new year of reviews begins…

This year of reviews has gotten off to a stressful start. First, I found missing chapters and had to replace a story. Then, I was waiting nervously to see if an Anthem era story would be finished in time, and luckily one was. So the final list of stories for this month is:

In addition to my reviews, I have two bonus reviews from Elizabeth, of Bed of Lies by Brittney and Songs Left Unsung by yours truly. You can find those under the Strong Enough To Break and Shout It Eras, respectively.

Assuming nothing goes wrong, my schedule for next month is:

I’ve also updated the directory today, so feel free to check that out. And check back in a few days for some exciting news about… well… you’ll see 😉
