Happy new year!

Happy new year!

I know I’m a little late, but happy new year, fansons!

2013 is going to be a big year for us, I think. Interest in hanfic always seems to wane at the end of an album cycle, and this one has been no exception. I had huge, high hopes for Shout It Out, and while hanfic did pick up during that summer and fall, we’ve hit some lows lately. That said, there are still new authors cropping up and the community, small though it may be, is still great to be part of. I don’t expect this new album (which we will hopefully know the title of soon) to cause any big explosion of popularity, but I have a feeling it will still be a good year for us all.

It’s a new month, too, which means new content for you guys. First, the somewhat delayed (as usual, it seems) monthly spotlights! They are as follows:

Read on to see what elese I’ve got new for you guys this month.

Normally, a new month would bring directory updates. Bear with me, though, as it’s taking a lot longer than I expected to get these updates ready. I had planned a huge directory overhaul as the newness for January, but it’s a gigantic project. Right now, I’m about 3/5 finished and I have over 500 new links to add. So hopefully, that will be ready for February.

So, what is new this month, if not the directory? In place of that, I’m going to upload several more stories to my archives. Most of these are former hostees at AITP.org, which sadly shut down last month. But, long story short, I can’t upload the today. I have every intention of adding them on Monday or Tuesday, so come back then to see what stories I have for you.

I’ve also done a little general maintenance on the site, which will probably slip by most of you unnoticed, but it needed to be done at least for my own peace of mind. Soon, though, I’ll have a brand new layout ready to go.

Once again, happy new year! I can’t wait to see what this new year brings us.
